Fitri Jalil is Kuala Lumpur-born and has always been intrigued by the topics relating to the Malay identity. He’s an autodidact photographer who learned his craft without a formal photography training. Fitri’s technical method is exploration via trial and error, understanding how the camera works whilst getting close to his chosen topics to form his creative concept. Fitri’s body of work revolves around social issues, culture and belief systems. His collection of portraits is an archive of various individuals that he had documented. The aim of his project is to provide a deeper understanding and awareness of the unique identity stories
