Chotoku Tanaka 田中長徳

Chotoku Tanaka was a student at Nihon University College of Art, Department of Photography, he was, at his time, the youngest to hold a solo exhibition at the Ginza Nikon Salon. He lived in Vienna for seven years from 1973, participated in the traveling exhibition of Japanese photographers "NEUE FOTOGRAFIE AUS JAPAN", and toured Europe. As an artist dispatched by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, he has a background in researching contemporary American photography at the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art in New York).


While holding solo exhibitions in Tokyo, New York, Berlin, and elsewhere, he also writes camera reviews. His columns on cameras all over the world are still popular today.
