Rinko Kawauchi commemorates the 40th anniversary of fashion brand agnés b's signature 'cardigan pression' in her photobook, 'When I was seven.'
Composed of two parts, the first part of Kawauchi's book features her daughter Kaoru who was on the cusp of turning seven. In the second part, Kawauchi reflects on her own childhood, the process of growing up, and the future awaiting her daughter. The images are unified by the cardigan worn by Kaoru, symbolizing connection and continuity, and opens a dialogue between generations. The project culminates in Kawauchi's afterword, expressing the timeless joy found in the bond between mother and daughter, and the profound significance of life's journey.
