“我坚信图像比语言更能说明一切，在《外在观察——吉隆坡》中，我试图强调我的家乡正在发生的进步速度，也许还需要花时间审视我们的过去以及我们如何我们（马来西亚人）今天的处境是通过观察文化、信仰和人民的最初熔炉而形成的，这些文化、信仰和人民独特地构成了今天的马来西亚。
今天的“吉隆坡”是亚洲乃至全世界发展最快的城市之一。我们拥有世界上最高的建筑，即双子塔，我们也拥有世界上最好的一级方程式赛道。我们必须为我们国家的成就感到自豪，但在社会方面，我们正在变得同质化。现代生活的需求已经摆在我们面前，互联网和手机已经占据了我们的生活。我们需要反思过去，审视未来。我们往往会忽视日常生活、朋友、社会环境和建筑物中的简单细节。
我希望读者会发现我的图像发人深省和怀旧，特别是对于海外马来西亚人和去过吉隆坡或计划在那里旅行的游客。 ”
2000年出版的《外面看：吉隆坡》是一本A4尺寸的黑白摄影纪录片，收录了吉隆坡市中心的照片，捕捉了那里居民的日常生活和活动，以及从人文的角度记录城市景观的快速成长和发展。
这组作品被日本相模原摄影城综合摄影节评选委员会授予 2007 年亚洲奖。
