The value and meaning of existence is a question humanity contemplates throughout life.
When I reflect on the question “Who am I?”, I often turn to titles, experiences, and social roles to define myself. But do these truly represent who I am?
If my titles change, if my experiences and roles shift, or even if my body transforms—would my existence disappear? No. I know I am still me, here in this very moment. It is I who experience what we call the external world.
As human beings, we inevitably pursue a beautiful external life—fame, wealth, appearances, and more. We believe these will bring us life’s meaning. Yet, between the external and internal, contradictions and helplessness often arise. They may seem paradoxical, and yet not entirely so.
When I look deeper into the distinction between self and the outside world, I realize it is not the external that defines me—but I who decide what kind of self I choose to become.

當我思考「我是誰」時，總會用稱謂、經驗與社會角色來定義自己。可這些真的能代表我嗎？
若我更換了稱謂，經歷了不同角色，甚至擁有新的身體，我就不復存在了嗎？我清楚知道我依然是我，存在於此時此刻。是「我」在體驗所謂的外在世界。
生而為人，難免追求名利、物質、外型等外在之美，以為這能夠找到人生價值。但外在與內在之間，總有矛盾與無奈。看似矛盾，卻又非矛盾。
當我放大思考自我與外在的差別時，我明白不是外在定義了我，而是我決定成為怎樣的自己。
不是世事造就了我，而是我選擇成為這樣的自己。
