KOTA SEPI KOTA SUNYI Photowalk (31st October 2026)
Where does Kuala Lumpur feel loneliest? Beyond the crowds, busy streets, and familiar city rhythms, there are quieter moments waiting to be noticed, empty streets, solitary figures, overlooked corners, and the spaces in between.
Join us for a photowalk exploring the quieter side of the city. Slow down, observe with intention, and look for moments of solitude through light, shadow, architecture, people, and the everyday scenes we often walk past without a second thought.
This photowalk is part of Kota Sepi Kota Sunyi, a Tiga Mata Special Project with Sementara at GDP Campus. It invites photographers to explore loneliness and solitude within the urban landscape, and to consider how these feelings shape the way we experience the city.
Participants are also welcome to submit their photographs to the Kota Sepi Kota Sunyi open call, which closes on 8 November 2026.
What's Included:
-
A guided photowalk exploring solitude and the quieter side of the city
-
An opportunity to connect with fellow photographers and exchange perspectives
-
A chance to develop your visual storytelling through observation and intentional image-making
Who Should Join?
Open to photographers of all experience levels who are interested in documenting the city, exploring themes of loneliness and solitude, or simply learning to see familiar surroundings differently. Bring any camera whether is digital, film, or phone. No prior experience is needed, just your curiosity and willingness to slow down and observe.
