Bees & The Bearable presents the artistic practice of Chen Zhe as an ongoing process of exploration, discovery, and research. At its centre lies a difficult question: when acts that put one's own existence at risk become a means of understanding that very existence, should they be understood as an escape or as a form of relief from the weight of modern life? Rather than offering definitive answers, Chen approaches these questions through an intimate interplay of images and words, allowing different perspectives and experiences to coexist.
Through its fragmented structure, Bees & The Bearable considers the relationship between individual experience and shared human emotions. Though our responses to life may differ, the work suggests that beneath these differences lies a psychological connectedness, an unseen thread linking one person's experience to another's.
