In 2011, while still a university student, Yoshiyuki Okuyama received the Excellence Award at Canon’s New Cosmos of Photography, marking an early and remarkable emergence into Japan’s photographic scene. Since then, he has become one of his generation’s most compelling visual voices, earning the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award for Photography in 2016 for BACON ICE CREAM and showing his work in major exhibitions in Tokyo and beyond.
