Signed limited edition print from Fauzan Fuad debut exhibition '44' @ Zontiga 22 Aug - 28 Sep 2020.

'44' is a series that addresses the artist's questions of life, love, and hate, spiritually, and Humanity.

Borne out of major life changes following marriage and cohabitation with his wife and in-laws, these photographs tell a domestic journey of restructuring internal narratives, converged over countless hours of dialogues with father in law Kamari Md Zain and artist's wife Farrina Zaini, whom he credits as instrumental to his creative process.

'44' is an ode to a street address that holds deep meaning during a period of soul searching and physical confinement.  In superstition, the number 4 represents death and bad luck, but double digits add up into the number 8 - a number that represents luck, wealth and good fortune.  To the artist this combination symbolises the perfect balance of good and evil, black and white, joy and grief, familiar to all who journey through life.

This body of work captures daily documentation of the artist's personal revelations on photography, spanning thousands of photographs over the course of 6-8 months.  With careful curation, this exhibition hopes to provide a glimpse into 300 final selects due to be published inside a 320 pages photobook by the end of 2020.
