Terms and Conditions & Submission Guidelines

Zontiga (The Next Level Sdn Bhd) is a platform dedicated to visual storytelling, image-making, and photography culture. Through open calls, features, and curated programmes, we support both emerging and established creatives across diverse practices.

By submitting photographs or image-based works for consideration in features, publications, or exhibitions, you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These constitute a binding agreement between you and Zontiga (The Next Level Sdn Bhd), based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

1. Eligibility

Submissions are open to photographers and image-makers of all nationalities, including both amateur and professional practitioners.

All works must be original and created by the participant. Any form of plagiarism or misrepresentation will result in disqualification.

Participants under the age of 16 must obtain written consent from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Submission Process

All entries must be submitted through the official submission platform or designated channels.

You may only submit your own work. Submissions made on behalf of others will not be accepted.

Submission limits, deadlines, and formats may vary depending on the specific open call or programme.

Unless otherwise specified, works created using analog, digital, or hybrid processes are accepted.

3. Image Guidelines

Submissions may include photography, lens-based works, or expanded image-making practices.

AI-generated images without substantial human authorship are not permitted. Any AI-assisted processes must be disclosed where relevant.

Submissions may require a short description or statement outlining the concept, process, or intent.

All works must comply with applicable legal and ethical standards (see Section 6: Content Restrictions).

4. Publication & Use of Submitted Works

If selected, you grant Zontiga (The Next Level Sdn Bhd) and its designated curators/editors the right to:

  • Display and promote your work across print, digital, and physical platforms
  • Feature your work on Zontiga’s website, social media, publications, and exhibitions
  • Credit you using your name or a provided pseudonym (artist name)
  • Present your work individually or alongside other works
Selection is not guaranteed.

Unless otherwise stated, no monetary compensation will be provided for featured or published works.

5. Participant Rights & Warranties

You retain full copyright of all submitted work.

You are responsible for ensuring that you hold all necessary rights to the submitted content.

If your work involves third-party rights (e.g., commissioned works), you must obtain all required permissions prior to submission.

Where applicable, model releases must be secured, particularly for works featuring identifiable individuals.

6. Content Restrictions

Submissions that are unlawful, exploitative, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate will be disqualified.

For works involving children or minors, appropriate consent from a parent or legal guardian must be obtained prior to submission.

7. Usage Rights

By submitting your work, you agree that:

  • Your work may be included in Zontiga-related publications (e.g., zines, books, archives)
  • Zontiga may use your work for marketing, educational, and promotional purposes across all media platforms
  • Usage rights are granted for a period of up to three (3) years from the date of submission
  • Proper credit will always be given to the creator
Unless otherwise agreed, no monetary compensation will be provided for such use.

8. Recognition & Opportunities

Selected participants may receive:

  • Features across Zontiga platforms
  • Inclusion in curated programmes, publications, or exhibitions
  • Opportunities for collaboration and community engagement
Formats, outcomes, and opportunities may vary by programme and are subject to change.

9. General Terms

Participation constitutes full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Zontiga reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be communicated through official channels.
