Pop-Up Film Portraits by Zarif Ismail
Don’t miss the opportunity to get your own ‘stage portraits’ captured on black and white film by fine art photographer Zarif Ismail. Sessions run for approximately 45 minutes each and involve a simple set-up at temu house’s outdoor area. Individuals, couples and groups are welcome to register!
Your photographs will be taken on one roll of medium format film, and you will receive the negatives, soft copies (10 - 12 shots), and one pigment ink print (of your choice) from the session.
The shoot will be conducted at temu house:

- temu house is a space with a relatively large garden, we hope you enjoy it.
- Smoking is not encouraged but if you must, please do so ONLY at the patio.
- Parking is limited to 8 - 10 cars, so kindly carpool / Grab to the venue.
- We are located in a neighbourhood, so kindly be mindful of how you park your cars plus the serenity of the residence around.
About Zarif
Zarif Ismail (b. 1994) hails from Perak and loves working with black and white film. His work ranges from the expression of suburban stillness, to the documentation of personal space and objects in response to his curiosity.
His debut photobook ‘Rekah Fajar’ was supported by the Zontiga Photobook Grant 2022 and released in September 2023.
This pop up portrait session is organised by Zontiga in collaboration with KLPA and the Make it Real : Staged Narrative portrait awards exhibition at temu house from 20 - 28 July 2024.
