Mini Riso Photo-Zine Workshop with Bang Bang Zine (29 & 30 June '24)

Get creative with your images and make your own mini riso photo-zine! This workshop is a collaboration between Bang Bang Zine and Zontiga, in conjunction with the Japanese Photobook Exhibition (28 - 30 June 2024).

 

In this workshop, you will learn:

•⁠  ⁠The basics of risograph and the riso printing process
•⁠  ⁠⁠How to set up your file for 2-colour riso
•⁠  ⁠⁠The dos & don'ts in risograph printing
•⁠  ⁠⁠The basics of operating a riso machine when making a 2-colour print
•⁠  ⁠⁠How to make your own 8 page folded zine

You'll take home:

Six copies of your 2-colour 8 page folded zine (including a few test print copies for adjustment purpose), and a riso colour chart.

You will also receive 1 FREE One-Day Pass for the Japanese Photobook Exhibition!

(Redeemable at the ticket redemption counter during the exhibition period).

Requirements & Pre-Workshop Prep

- Participants need to have basic knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, and bring a laptop with the program installed.

- Prepare at least 10 digital photos (scanned film is accepted). Both black and white and colour photos can be used, however you have more room to play with colour photographs.

- Have a rough idea of how you would like to lay out your pages/spreads.

Cancellation and Refund Policies

We understand that participants may sometimes be unable to attend a workshop. If this occurs, they are welcome to find a substitute to take their place. If a substitute cannot be found, cancellations and refunds will be handled as follows:

  • If Zontiga cancels a workshop, all booking fees will be fully refunded.
  • If a participant withdraws more than 72 hours before the workshop, a refund will be issued minus a RM 50 administration fee (which can be applied as a credit toward any Zontiga workshop within the next 12 months).
  • If a participant withdraws less than 72 hours before the workshop or does not attend, no refund will be issued.

Please note that we are not responsible for travel costs if the workshop is canceled, and refunds may take time to process depending on your bank or credit card company.
