More often than not, many good images and projects are let down by poor writing, whether it is the title, caption or statement. It is often said that a good image does not require words and this is true for some photographs. However, a well-written, clear concise statement can elevate your work add depth to the narrative and be appreciated by more of your viewers.
Who is this for?
Ideally suited to photographers putting together projects in preparation for grant or gallery applications, awards and contests or creating personal galleries on their website.
What is expected?
We shall examine some real examples of poor and good statements, captions and also bios from photographers. You will have the opportunity to write and improve on your captions and statements over this 2 session workshop and gain confidence in your writing.
Come with an open mind about what you wish to add to your photography projects. If you are about to make a grant proposal or start a project and are often stuck with words and making coherent phrases then this might help you. Often we lack the courage or vocabulary to express our thoughts into words and this workshop might benefit you also.
