A tender photographic return to the wet market of her childhood in Subang Jaya, Days of the Week is Lim Paik Yin’s first portrait project — a quiet reflection on memory, community, and the passing of time.
Captured using a smartphone and printed in Polaroid-style format, each photo is paired with handwritten notes marking the days they were taken. These intimate, tactile images trace the rhythms of everyday life — the aunties and uncles, familiar banter, and the humid beauty of a place that still pulses with presence.
More than documentation, this photobook is a love letter to ageing spaces and the gentle rituals of the market — now slowly fading beneath the rise of modern supermarkets.
