Who can submit to the Tiga Mata Issue #2 ('Rejected Pictures') Open Call?

Submissions to Tiga Mata are open to anyone who takes photos (amateurs, hobbyists, professionals... anyone!) and photo-related artists from South East Asia (Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam).

Who publishes Tiga Mata?

Tiga Mata is a bi-annual zine published by Zontiga (The Next Level Sdn Bhd). Issue #2 is will be released in late-2024.

When is the deadline for submissions?

15 July 2024, Monday at 23:59 (Malaysia Time / +8 GMT)

What is the entry fee for submission?

Free. There is no entry fee for submissions.

Do you accept photographs taken on film?

We accept all photography related formats including film, digital, and alternative processes (cyanotype, chemigram, photography mixed media), as long as they are submitted digitally via our Tiga Mata Submission Form on Google.

We do not accept images created by AI.

Do you only accept single images or are project also accepted?

We accept both single images and projects (multiple images in a series). However, please note that due to space constraints, we may not be able to publish all photos in a project and our editor will be curated the photographs.

How should I save my photographs?

Images should be saved using the following guide:
File format: JPG/JPEGImage
Quality: 8 - 10 (high quality)
Colour profile: sRGB
Dimensions: 3000 pixels at its widest/longest side
DPI: 240 - 300 DPI (if possible)

How should I name my image files?

Please use the following naming system:
fullname.number.jpg

For example:
Bob LEE submitting 3 photos - 
boblee.01.jpg, boblee.02.jpg, boblee.03.jpg

How should I name my text file containing my image descriptions and captions?

Text files (word document or PDF) should follow this naming format (in lowercase): 

fullname.pdf

For example :  Bob LEE submitting this captions - 
boblee.pdf

Please list your file names with your images’ titles, captions and descriptions.

How many photos can I submit?

Each person is allowed to submit a maximum of 10 images. 

Will I receive any payment if my photograph is selected to be published in Tiga Mata?

As Tiga Mata is a not-for-profit zine, we are unable to pay our photographers for use of their image(s) published. By submitting your work to Tiga Mata, you agree for us to publish your work in our zine without any monetary compensation.

Will I receive a copy of Tiga Mata for free if my work is published?

Unfortunately, we are unable to send free copies to everyone who is published in Tiga Mata. However, we will offer a 50% discount off your first copy, and 30% off subsequent copies (for a limited period of time). The shipping fee will depend on your location.

Does Tiga Mata retain any copyright on the images submitted?

All copyright is retained by the respective photographers; Tiga Mata does not claim any ownership on the images submitted. By submitting to Tiga Mata, you only give us permission to publish your work in our zine, website, social media channels and other marketing purposes relating to Tiga Mata.

Can I submit work on behalf of my friends?

No, you may only submit images taken by yourself.

Do you accept photographs created by AI?

No, we only accept images that have been captured by you and not created via prompts.
